More important concerns than health care

United States Senator Robert Menendez
528 Senate Hart Office Bldg.
Wash., D.C. 20510

Dear Senator Robert Menendez,

Greetings! I hope that you and the loved ones are in good health. How is your spirit on this glorious day that the Lord has made? I am writing to you to ask for your help! There are pressing needs and concerns, and problems, in this country that need to be addressed ahead of health care reform. These needs/concerns/problems need your attention and help. Health care may be important, but there are other needs/concerns/problems that are more important. We should be more concerned with the problem of abortion (more than 48 million lives have been destroyed since 1973 by surgical abortions only here in the United States - more than 50 million by non-surgical abortions!), poverty (both spiritual and physical poverty), and justice reform that is badly needed (too many innocent people get wrongly convicted, and too many guilty people get set free, or the punishment doesn't fit the crime). Abortion is the destruction of life - life given as a gift from the Lord. There is too much poverty in the United States (and in the world) today that affects people on a daily, and hourly basis. Also, there needs to be major justice reform here in the U.S., and each day that reform is put off we are adversely affected by it. These three problems/concerns/needs should be receiving more of our efforts and attention, and energy, now. However, so much effort is being consumed on health care reform!

There are other concerns/problems/needs that should be looked at before addressing health care reform. Nuclear proliferation, or the possibility of nuclear proliferation, and the excessive amounts of nuclear weapons worldwide should be considered and dealt with prior to health care reform. Also, national security/defense issues/concerns should be addressed ahead of health care reform. Also, racism, along with bigotry, and prejudice should be tackled ahead of health care reform (not to mention anti-semitism also).

As someone who has lived out on the streets, gone without eating (because of poverty), been without work (not by choice), lived without insurance (health, life, dental, and car insurance), and lived long periods of time on only one or two meals a day (again due to poverty) I can tell you that poverty is a more pressing need in this country (and in the world) than health care reform. Poverty affects millions in this country, and is a daily, and sometimes an hourly, concern, unlike health care. Also, the spiritual poverty in this country is a major concern, considering this is supposed to be one nation under God. Abortion is not health care - abortion is the destruction of life. There is a movement in this country that claims that abortion is health care. Life is a gift from the Lord, and is precious!

I hope and pray that you and the other leaders (both in the U.S. and in the world) will devote more time and effort, and energy, to stop the destruction of life (please help stop abortion, and please do not support any health care measure that would allow the government to pay for abortions), to help alleviate poverty (both spiritual and physical), and to help reform our justice system to provide proper and timely justice to us all.

Thank you very much for all of your help! Hope that you and the loved ones have a joyous and peaceful day! May the good Lord bless you and the loved ones greatly!

Sincerely,

Ken Miller
