How many billions of dollars did we spend on trying to pay off the national debt?

To whom it may concern,

Greetings! I hope that you and the loved ones are in good health! How is your spirit on this glorious day that the Lord has made? I am wondering how much money has been spent over the last forty-five years to help pay off the national debt. It has to be in the trillions of dollars. That means that those trillions of dollars could have been spent on other things (hospitals, computers, schools, medical equipment, medicine, food, water, and on and on). So if our leaders had been more vigilant forty-five years ago, and tried harder to prevent any sort of deficit a lot less money would have been required to be spent on paying off the debt.

How many trillions of dollars are we (the United States) in debt for? (approx.)

In 1950 the US was in debt for $257.36 billion.* $219.0 billion* $

In 1960 we were in debt for $266.33 billion.* $236.8 billion

In 1970 we were in debt for $370.92 billion.* $283.2 billion

In 1980 we were in debt for $907.70 billion.* $711.9 billion

In 1990 we were in debt for $3,233.31 billion.* $2,411.6 billion

In 2000 we were in debt for $5,674.18 billion.* $$3,409.8 billion* $5,719.62 bil.

In 2001 we were in debt for $5,abc.df billion.* $3,319.6 billion* $5,740.44 bil.

In 2002 we were in debt for $5,abc.df billion.* $3,540.4 billion* $5,929.29 bil.

In 2003 we were in debt for $6,abc.df billion.* $3,913.4 billion* $6,399.12 bil.

In 2004 we were in debt for $7,abc.df billion.* $4,295.5 billion* $7,014.8 bil.

In 2005 we were in debt for $7,abc.gh billion.* $4,592.2 billion* $7,618.73 bil.

In 2006 we were in debt for $8,bcd.gh billion.* $4,829.0 billion* $8,190.37 bil.

In 2007 we were in debt for $8,acb.sh billion.* $5,035.1 billion* $8,683.21 bil.

In 2008 we were in debt for $9,dfg.gh billion.* $5,802. 7 billion* $9,203.19 bil.

In 2009 we were in debt for $10,cbg.jk billion.* $8,531.4 billion* $10,617.86 b.

In 2010 we were in debt for $12,acb.fg billion.* $9,881.9 billion* $12,274.43 b.

Do you see a pattern here?

Because a more serious effort to pay off the national debt some forty-five years ago (and each subsequent year) did not happen we are paying so much more each year (interest payments) than we would have today (again that means less money for helping the needy, for hospitals, for schools, for clean drinking water for millions in the world that do not have clean drinking water, less money for equipment in our schools, less money for medicines, and on and on).

First we need to turn to the Lord - the Lord that created the heavens and the earth, the Lord of Abraham, the Lord of Isaac, the Lord of Jacob - the Holy One of Israel!
Jesus is the Holy One of Israel! Jesus is Lord!
