Abortion extremists are going to incredible lengths to mislead women about pregnancy centers like ours. And the media isn’t holding them accountable for it. Prominent political leaders are fueling the emotional frenzy of lies, deception, and violence. False information about abortion and health care is taking hold, especially on social media. And sadly, the fear mongering is working. More and more vulnerable women believe overturning Roe v Wade literally puts their lives in danger. False claims that women seeking abortion for ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or rape will be arrested and prosecuted are popping up everywhere. (Be sure to attend our Fall Banquet where we will address these attacks head on.) Pregnancy centers are routinely called “fake clinics” that “fool and torture” women. Elizabeth Warren has demanded that all of these pro-life centers are cited, fined and shut down. And beginning in early May, vandalism attacks against Catholic churches, pro-life pregnancy centers, maternity homes, and other pro-life organizations were reported across the country. These attacks have taken the form of vulgar graffiti, property damage, threats, theft, and even arson. To date, 32 churches and 43 pregnancy centers have been attacked. In June, the FBI announced a formal investigation into a series of 27 separate attacks against churches and pro-life organizations, but apparently has made no arrests. On the surface, it looks like we’re losing the battle. But the reality is that women are still being reached and lives are still being saved right here in our centers. We continue to see one life saved from abortion every single day—and sometimes two!
