Dear Kenneth,
I'd like to provide you with a brief overview of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer's activities over the last 18 months. We placed 13 ads in Notre Dame's newspaper, the Irish Rover, and in high school sports calendars in 2013, but this year, we have been focusing our ad placements in the second and third largest newspapers in Illinois, the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald, respectively. We could not have done that without the generosity of our faithful supporters. Frankly, I don't know what we would ever do without compassionate people like you! I am hopeful that you will continue your partnership with us to spread the word about the abortion-breast cancer (ABC) link. Are you in a position to help us place more ads? Can you make a sacrificial contribution? We also depend heavily on the "widow's mite." Whatever you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.
With the help of our attorneys at the Bioethics Defense Fund, we filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in defense of women's health.[1] Our purpose was to inform the court that the new healthcare law's contraceptive mandate can be expected to aggravate our nation's already out-of-control breast cancer epidemic and increase the incidence of liver and cervical cancers. This was no small task on our part. While consulting with our medical and science advisers, we provided our attorneys with considerable scientific evidence supporting the cancer risks associated with the use of both the Pill and the Depo Provera birth control injection.
Our amicus brief must have struck a nerve in the abortion lobby. Seven "reproductive rights" organizations swiftly challenged the brief after it was initially filed last year.[2] They include: the Center for Reproductive Rights, the American Public Health Association, Guttmacher Institute, National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, the National Latino Institute for Reproductive Health, the National Women's Health Network, and the Reproductive Health Technologies Project.
The abortion lobby must feel very threatened by our work - and for good reason! Once the public becomes aware that a certain product or service causes cancer, i.e. tobacco or asbestos, then consumers stop buying it.
The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the lawsuits involving Hobby Lobby Stores and Conestoga Wood Specialties Corporation on March 25, 2014. We expect the high court's decision to be announced in late June.
Judge Janice Rogers Brown, who sits on the federal appeals court for the District of Columbia, cited our amicus brief in early November of 2013. She wrote an opinion for the majority on the court in support of the lawsuit brought by businessmen Francis and Philip Gilardi against the government's contraceptive mandate.[3] The judge pointed to the World Health Organization's classification of combined oral contraceptives (the Pill) as a Group 1 cancer-causing substance.[4]
I've given 30 radio interviews over the last 18 months, many of them on national networks, and one interview to a newspaper journalist. I only had those opportunities because, thanks to your gifts, we were able to hire a newswire service to distribute ten press releases to journalists and leading search engines, like Google News and Yahoo News. Our press releases reported not only the above-stated news concerning our amicus brief, but also new studies from these countries:
1) China: Yubei Huang's team conducted a meta-analysis (a study of studies in which the results are pooled) of 36 studies and found a statistically significant 44% risk increase among women with one abortion. Risk significantly climbed further with two and three abortions (76% and 89% risk elevations, respectively).[5]
2) U.S.: Researchers reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association that the incidence of advanced breast cancers (cancers that had spread to distant locations by the time of diagnosis) among young women aged 25 - 39 years had surged nearly 90% within only 33 years between 1976 and 2009.[6] That's the "legacy" of "reproductive rights" groups and their favorite surgery (abortion) and their best-loved drugs (contraceptive and abortion-inducing steroids).
3) Denmark: Christina Brauner and her team claimed not to have found "an adverse effect of induced abortion on breast cancer risk in (childbearing) older women overall...," but they hadn't studied childbearing women overall.[7] They underestimated the risk by recruiting only women ages 50-65 and excluding women already diagnosed with cancer, postmenopausal women and childless women. Women who were predisposed to developing breast cancer because of their of their abortions had either already died or were excluded as study subjects because they had cancer.
4) Bangladesh: Dr. Suraiya Jabeen and his colleagues reported the highest risk elevation ever found among women with abortion histories - a statistically significant 20.62-fold increased risk.[8] This is attributable to the fact researchers study relative risk. Breast cancer is rare in Bangladesh because most Bengali women have not adopted the Western lifestyle. Nearly all are married and with child by age 20. Most Bengalis don't use the Pill or have abortions either.
5) India: A small study of 188 women led by Ramachandra Kamath, MD found a borderline statistically significant 6.38-folr risk elevation among post-abortive women.[9]
6) India: A study by Unmesh Takalkar, MD and his colleagues found abortion multiplies a woman's breast cancer risk by 2.8 times.[10] Because researchers did not distinguish between induced abortions and miscarriages (which are first trimester miscarriages) do not increase risk.
The sheer magnitude of the approaching breast cancer epidemic in China and India alone is staggering. There are at least eight studies on the Indian subcontinent that have found an ABC link. Professor Joel Brind, co-founder of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, told me he found it "troubling that the ABC link is now showing up big time in the world's most populous countries where breast cancer used to be rare. That means millions upon millions of women will die from this deadly after effect of abortion. Consider that between India and China, we're talking about over a billion women. If only 1% of them get breast cancer due to abortion, that's still 10 million women, of whom at least 2 or 3 million will die from it!" The suppression of the ABC link is a crime against humanity!
Please check out my letter to the editor of the Reno Gazette Journal, which is enclosed. Finally, please remember to make a contribution so that we can purchase more ads and keep the ABC link in the public eye. Thank you for all that you do to help spread the word.
Sincerely,
Karen Malec

Dear Karen Malec,
Greetings on this glorious day that the Lord has made! I hope that you and the
loved ones are in good health. Good health is such a wonderful blessing
from the good Lord, our Creator Lord! How is your spirit on this
glorious day? Please remember that we humans are more than flesh and blood.
Please remember the poor, and the working poor, today! Also, please remember
that we humans are created by our Creator Lord, in His image, for His glory! Thank you very much for contacting me and for asking for a donation.
Although I have been blessed greatly by the good Lord, our Creator Lord, over
the years (over my entire life actually - one time I was living out on the
streets, one time I was labeled autistic and couldn't speak, and one time I was
deeply in debt - to mention just three times that the good Lord has blessed
me), I will not be donating at this time. I ask that you would be patient
please, and ask again within maybe eighteen to thirty six weeks. I don't have
much money or assets (compared to rich people, or compared to middle class
people, but compared to people living on less than $2 a day I probably have a
lot). I am content, and am very grateful to the good Lord for each new day and
many tender mercies that He gives us! I am very grateful that the good Lord
looks down on us from above, and grants peace!
Thank you again for asking for a donation, and hope that you and the loved ones
have a joyous and peaceful day. May the good Lord, our Creator Lord, bless you
and the loved ones with love, joy, peace, and patience!
Sincerely,
Ken
