Consider his explicit intent to set free the violent extremists who assaulted those law enforcement officers at the Capitol. His explicit intent to jail journalists. Political opponents. Anyone he sees as the enemy. His explicit intent to deploy our active-duty military against our own citizens.” The next morning, Catholic Vote reposted a video featuring David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress – this one with a slightly different focus than the famous CMP videos. The video addressed a military-style raid made on Daleiden’s apartment on April 5, 2016. In a stunning move that morning, uniformed officers of the California Department of Justice, some armed with automatic rifles, seized some of Daleiden’s property. And what they seized wasn’t illegal drugs nor breathtaking, Breaking Bad piles of $100 bills. When CMP’s initial videos came to light in 2015, they created a firestorm that abortion apologists in the mainstream media didn’t at first know how to handle. Planned Parenthood’s smug indifference to legal restrictions wasn’t the only thing that audiences learned from CMP. They also learned – many for the first time – about the grisly reality of the child murder industry. Officials of the nation’s largest abortion mega-corporation cheerfully discussed their trade in fetal heads, hearts, livers, and limbs. One even boasted of detaching fetal legs by main strength. Pro-lifers weren’t startled by news of Planned Parenthood’s depravity and so didn’t quite fathom the effect these revelations had on the general public. Most people thought that abortion involved “fertilized eggs” and masses of undifferentiated tissue. Before CMP, they didn’t even know that the victims of abortion had heads, hearts, and livers – or legs for smirking ghouls to yank off. In other words, CMP’s videos served the purpose of legitimate journalism. They informed. They presented important facts that most people didn’t already know. Eventually, the coverup kicked into gear. The videos were disparaged for being “edited” – as if any published videos addressing issues in the news were not edited. But the truth was out there, right? The proper authorities had the information they needed to prosecute Planned Parenthood for its illegal activities. Right? In California – where Daleiden lived, and where much of the undercover video evidence was first recorded – that’s not what happened. Instead, among other things, there followed the April 5 raid mentioned above. Instead of targeting the lawbreakers of Planned Parenthood, the authorities targeted the investigative journalists of CMP. Later, Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were subjected to criminal charges – a threat that they still face. The maddening thing right now is who those authorities were. And are. It was Kamala Harris, as California Attorney General, who ordered the commando raid on David Daleiden. It was Harris’s heirs in office, subsequent AGs Xavier Becerra and Rob Bonta, who followed through and prosecuted, not the party illegally dealing in baby body parts, but the parties who dared to expose these secret crimes. Even worse, the raid on Daleiden’s home occurred two weeks after Harris met with officials of, you guessed it, Planned Parenthood – who explicitly requested that California law enforcement seize the computer equipment Daleiden was using to publish the CMP videos. In other words, the bigwigs in the baby body part business asked California’s AG to silence their critics. And she did what she could to accommodate their demand. In the acceptance speech, Harris was apparently referring to Trump’s stated willingness to jail a journalist for not revealing a leaker – such as the person at the U.S. Supreme Court who leaked the Dobbs decision. But she herself has gone far beyond Trump in trying to jail journalists, political opponents, and ideological enemies. When she speaks of Trump’s evil intent, it’s worse than mere hypocrisy. It’s projection. It’s a statement about what she has already accomplished in the abuse-of-power department. And of what she evidently intends to continue. This year, pro-abortion politicians – and not only Democrats – are vying to outdo one another in commitment to the infant annihilation cause. The problem is that abortion advocates are already the most extreme ideologues in the country. How can an aspiring abortion devotee prove that he or she is more in favor of baby-killing than anyone else, thus securing abortionist campaign contributions? By persecuting pro-lifers, that’s how. By jailing pro-life journalists. By helping to obscure the dirty secrets of the child-killers. Please pray for investigative journalists David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, who incurred official ire by revealing the reality of the abortion racket! Please pray for other pro-life activists throughout the country, who are similarly targeted by the totalitarian tyrants who serve the abortion idol!
