Dear President George Bush

Dear President George Bush,
Hello! I hope you and the loved ones are in good health! How is your spirit on this glorious day the Lord has made? How about creating a national asset tax on wealthy individuals, businesses, and organizations? This would be a tax that only the very wealthy would have to pay.
For the Individual Net Asset Tax there would be the following deductions: $13.75 million for oneself, $13.75 million for a spouse, and $4.125 million for each dependent under 19 years old living at home. The net asset tax would be as follows:
Net Assets (in millions of dollars) - - / - - Tax
79.7 - 328 : .5% (half a percent)
328 - 1,349.8 : $1.2415 million plus 1% over $328 million
1,349.8 - 5,555 : $11.46 million plus 1.25% over $1,349.8 million
5,555 - 22,861.2 : $64.025 million plus 1.5% over $5,555 million
more than 22,861.2 : $323.62 million plus 1.75% over $22.8612 billion

For the Business/Organization Net Asset Tax there would be the following deductions:
$247 million-standard deduction, $289,500 per employee, and all pension assets would be deductible. The net asset tax would be as follows:
Net Assets (in millions of dollars) - - / - - Tax
570 - 2,361.6 : .5% (half a percent)
2,361.6 - 9,784.4 : $8.958 million plus 1% over $2.3616 billion
9,784.4 - 40,538.6 : $83.186 million plus 1.25% over $9.7844 billion
40,538.6 - 167,958 : $467.61 million plus 1.5% over $40.5386 billion
more than 167,958 : $2.3789 billion plus 1.75% over $167.958 billion

The tax could expire in nine years, and the deductions could be increased automatically by 33% each year. This tax could take the place of the Inheritance Tax, and the national gas tax.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Hope you and the loved ones have a joyous and peaceful day! May the good Lord bless you and the loved ones greatly!

To whom it may concern

To whom it may concern,

Hello and thank you very much for contacting me and asking for a contribution. Although I have been blessed by the good Lord over the years in all so many ways, I will not be donating to all of you who have asked at this time. I ask every one of you to be patient at this time, and to ask again at a later date (not within the next three or four weeks, please). I don't have much in way of assets and/or money, which is fine because I am content. Also, that which is seen is only temporary, however, what is unseen is eternal! I do, also, have the love and the comfort of the Father, creator of the Universe and Savior, and have been redeemed by His only begotten Son. "The god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." 2Corinthians 4:4 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6,7 "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." James 1:5,6 "But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." James 3:17 "Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." Romans 13:10 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." 1Timothy 6:10
Thanks again and hope you and the loved ones have a joyous and peaceful day. May the good Lord bless you and the loved ones greatly!

Sincerely,

K. Miller

Dear Governor Corzine

Dear Governor Jon Corzine,

Please reconsider closing some of the State Parks, and please reconsider some of the proposed cutbacks in the State Budget to the disabled. Perhaps proposing and instituting a net asset tax on wealthy individuals, and a net asset tax on wealthy businesses and organizations would generate sufficient money so that the closings and cutbacks would not have to take place. The net asset tax on wealthy individuals would be as follows: there would be a standard deduction for oneself, and a spouse (if applicable) of $5.5 million each. There would be a $1.65 million deduction for each dependent, under 19 years old, living at home. Only those individuals with net assets, after deductions, of $35 million would owe any taxes (at .5%). Those having over $126 million would be taxed at a higher rate (at 1%), and those having over $453.6 million would be taxed at the highest rate (at 1.25%).
Net Assets - / - Tax
$35 million - $126 million : .5% (half a percent)
$126 million - 453.6 million : $455,000 plus 1% over $126 million
over $453.6 million : $3,731,000 plus 1.25% over $453.6 mil.

For the net asset tax on wealthy businesses and organizations there would be a standard deduction of $92 million, plus a $179,000/employee deduction. Also, all pension assets would be deductible. The net asset tax on wealthy businesses and organizations would look something like:
Net Assets - / - Tax
$252 million - $907.2 million : .5% (half a percent)
$907.2 million - $3,265,920,000 : $3.276 million plus 1% over $907.2 mil.
over $3,265,920,000 : $26,863,200 plus 1.25% over $3,265,920,000

The tax could be instituted so that after nine years it would no longer exist, and also the deductions could be automatically increased each year by 33%. By increasing the deductions each year by 33% some individuals/businesses/organizations would end up having only to pay the net asset tax maybe in the first, and second year of existence.
I urge you Governor Corzine, to propose and support a net asset tax on wealthy individuals, and on wealthy businesses and organizations like I have suggested. Please reconsider the closing of State Parks and the proposed cutbacks to the disabled in the State Budget. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
May the good Lord bless you and the loved ones, and grant you much wisdom at this time.

Sincerely,

A different kind of rebate

How about if taxpayers were to get a rebate from the federal government based on the total taxes the taxpayer had paid in federal taxes during his/her lifetime? What size rebate should it be? Should the government give a 15% rebate (up to a $75,000 maximum)? How about a 5% rebate?
