It’s been eight years since undercover videos from the Center for Medical Progress shook a complacent abortion industry, fattened on the blood of innocent children, to its horrific foundations. And it’s been almost as long since Big Abortion pulled out all the stops to punish the heroes who revealed its gory secrets. Now the Life Legal Defense Foundation is pressing on to save these activists from the wrath of the abortion profiteers. And we need your help! Back in 2015, thrown off balance, the pro-abortion mainstream media reported that CMP’s videos alleged terrible things. But even that trembling admission wasn’t the truth. The videos proved that Planned Parenthood’s officers were violating federal law by peddling aborted baby body parts for “valuable consideration.” Defenders of the abortion mega-corporation – later pitched as “experts” in the press – had to ignore the full content of the videos in order to discredit these revelations. It’s no exaggeration to say that Planned Parenthood’s evasion of criminal prosecution was one early example of the rampant politicization of federal law enforcement so evident today. And violations of federal law weren’t the only thing that CMP’s videos revealed. They also brought to light the nauseating reality of the abortion industry – the eagerness of abortionists to dismember fully-formed infants while cracking jokes, the complete indifference to actual maternal safety and patient privacy, the emphasis on turning child sacrifice into a successful business model. The fetid practices of the child-killers were on open display. The abortionists and their allies in government and media labored to shut down the videos and to cover up the enormities revealed. And the most vindictive part of this program was a series of lawsuits against the pro-life whistleblowers! With the help of people like you, we pro-life attorneys managed to parry and disarm many of these actions. It was the least we could do for the sake of the heroes who had risked so much for the babies…. But one of the lawsuits – Planned Parenthood’s own – made it to a jury in super-liberal San Francisco. Through the application of unprecedented “legal” standards, pro-lifers were found liable and saddled with a whopping $2 million in damages and over $13 million in attorney fees! We appealed, of course. But higher courts delivered no justice. Still, we never gave up. Now we have hit upon a new way of defending the beleaguered heroes of CMP – but time is running out for our new tactic. A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 6th – and we urgently need your help again to shield the heroes of CMP! What sort of effort will you be backing? Along with other pro-life defense teams, we filed a motion under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures to vacate or modify the judgment. The restriction on this sort of motion is that it cannot raise issues that could have been raised at trial. And ours doesn’t. You see, since the trial in Planned Parenthood’s vengeful lawsuit, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has invalidated Oregon’s recording law as unconstitutional in a case called Project Veritas v. Schmidt. Well, Planned Parenthood’s suit against CMP heroes was entirely based on California’s recording law, which is substantially similar to Oregon’s. By striking down Oregon’s law, the Ninth Circuit annihilated the foundation for the verdict against CMP. Logically, Planned Parenthood’s damage awards and attorney fees should no longer be supported. It’s a powerful argument – but Planned Parenthood’s pro-abortion lawyers will do everything they can to turn it aside. It’s in their interest both ideologically and financially. They won’t hold back. They won’t cede any ground. They want to stomp the investigative journalists of CMP so that no one again ever dares to expose the abortion cartel. Please, help us defeat them in court! We estimate that we need to raise at least $25,000 by Dec. 1st in order to be fully prepared for the confrontation on Dec. 6th – while attending to our many other pro-life obligations. Please, could you contribute $50, $100, or even $250 toward this essential goal? Because we are up against the crushing financial advantage of the abortion syndicate, we are especially seeking gifts of up to $1,000 from pro-life stalwarts who can afford to consider such sacrificial generosity. But we would be truly grateful for any amount you could afford to give. In a crunch like this, every little bit helps. And we know that small gifts can accomplish great things, if they are given with great love. It might seem that the pro-life movement has moved on since the first revelations from CMP. It might seem that, as the pro-aborts promote massive abortion tourism and push deceptive ballot measures, there are other things for us to worry about. We at Life Legal disagree. As you know, we are paying close attention to all those current developments. But if we don’t carry on the fight for CMP’s heroes, pro-life activism will be severely crippled. And those heroes deserve our help! It’s that simple. CMP’s undercover investigators went into the very belly of the beast to bring the truth to light – and to save babies. We won’t abandon them. We’ll do everything we can to save them. Please help us – before it’s too late!
